Yazelix Nova - Keyboard terminal workspace

Install Stable

Add the checked release to your Nix profile. These docs track Stable. Main and Edge may differ.

install

nix profile add --refresh github:Yazelix/nova/stable

On x86_64 Linux without Nix, use the installer.

Set a terminal profile to run yzx enter, or open the installed Linux desktop entry. Most days, you do not type another yzx command after Nova opens. Alt Shift K opens Ratconfig

Projects and panes

Tabs hold projects. Each new tab starts with a focused quick zoxide search. Tab switches to startup Yazi. Shells join the editor in one stack. See the historical Nova v1 tour

Project tabsEach tab is a project. A new tab opens from the folder search, then slides along the bar

Layout

Split the stack into columns and move panes between them. Hide the key hints and the sidebar when the work needs the room, or switch layouts from the command menu. See Keybindings

Split panesAlt ] splits the stack into columns. Ctrl Alt h and Ctrl Alt l move a pane between them

Files, git, and the agent open over the workspace, then hide. The tiled session stays put

Yazi popupHelix reveals the current file in Yazi. Another file opens back in the editor

Make it yours

Ratconfig restyles the session while it runs. Anima fills the workspace as ambience or a screensaver. Settings are in Configure

Live configRatconfig restyles the session to Dracula, then back to ansi

Tabs, stacked panes, and floating panes are Zellij. The Radar-default sidebar, popups, top bar, and yzx are Yazelix. Nova builds pinned upstream Zellij with its plugins embedded and two small patches. See Nova and Zellij

Named sessions

yzx launch opens Nova Rio, then the workspace. yzx enter uses the current terminal or SSH. Add --session NAME to create a workspace you can attach to later. Steps are in Start

Move with h j k l

Nova extends Helix and Vim motion across the workspace. Alt focuses. Ctrl Alt moves panes. Alt Shift summons. The full map is in Keybindings
